About

Allison McCleveland is an expressive visual artist who creates unique and dynamic works of art that she desires to inspire hope and love in people. She is a world traveler at heart but has settled down in Oklahoma to be closer to family. She has always had a strong connection with the arts being raised by a single mother in art school who then became an art teacher. Art is how she bonds with her mother, and now with her own children. She first fell in love with drawing charcoal portraits, because of how people connected with her realistic pieces. She now uses charcoal drawing as a part of her process, but then adds many mixed media materials to add colorful expression, and evoke emotion.

In her recent series, “Wild and Free,” she beautifully captures local Oklahoma wildlife, nature and flowers. Currently, she is immersed in her latest project, “Love and Light,” which celebrates precious fleeting moments captured in simple country living. Where she draws inspiration from her everyday life as a homeschooling mother who dreams of homesteading one day with her family in the countryside.

All available original paintings are currently on display and for sale at The Junction Remix 580 in Lawton, Oklahoma and can be also be purchased and shipped through AllieMacArt.com. She is currently taking commissions on a limited basis.

“The best thing to hold onto in life is each other.” -Audrey Hepburn

Statement from the artist:

“This is why I create… There is something inside of us that is longing to be, understood and embraced. In my attempt to connect abstraction and realism, I want to stir emotions of love, hope, and peace that comes from the relationships we cherish, (whether it’s with a person, place, or even a pet,) with the beauty of fleeting moments through abstraction that evoke strong emotion. Creating that memory, that feeling, we want to hold onto.”
